Vishal is the principal of Ramruthan Attorneys Incorporated and has 21 years of experience as an Attorney, Legal Adviser and Business Enabler to Clients in the private and public sector. Vishal is currently the Director of a Boutique law firm, Ramruthan Attorneys Incorporated which holds a Level 1 BEE status and has a specialised interest and expertise in Commercial and Corporate Law, Commercial Forensic Analysis, Data Protection and Cyber Law, Medical Law, Construction Law and Public Sector Advisory and litigation.

Vishal is known for delivering innovative practical solutions to complex legal and business challenges. He has a wealth of experience in Commercial and Corporate Law and has developed a particular field of expertise in commercial litigation, contract negotiations, drafting and management of contracts, commercial forensic investigations, corporate governance, and providing solutions to complex legal and commercial problems.

Apart from being a Commercial Attorney, Vishal has an active interest in business development, especially SMME development and has positioned himself as a Business Enabler. Vishal has leveraged his expertise and networks in the business and finance world towards assisting businesses across various sectors with unlocking growth opportunities and funding. Vishal is able to assist Clients, especially Entrepreneurs and SMMEs with obtaining unique and flexible tailor-made financing options that enable them to benefit from deals which would otherwise be lost due to conventional financing barriers.

Vishal has also been at the forefront of developing the legislative and governance framework for many government infrastructure and supply chain management implementation projects and is well placed to assist government and private clients with legal advice and disputes in this area. He has a deep and solid understanding of the functioning of government structures and its procurement and implementation process along with a formidable understanding of and the application of the PMFA and the MFMA. With his deep understanding of public sector governance and process, Vishal has been able to successfully assist clients with tender disputes and claims as well as conduct forensic investigations and reports into tender fraud and corruption.

Vishal has advised on a broad range of projects within a variety of infrastructure-related sectors including construction and engineering, transport, energy, industrial plants and commercial property transactions. He has advised on infrastructure projects and project disputes for the private sector up to CIDB Level 9 and has a good understanding and working knowledge of the various forms of standard contracts such as the JBCC, NEC3 and 4, FIDIC, PROCSA and bespoke contracts. Over the years, Vishal has assisted Clients in Adjudication and Arbitration processes.

Vishal is also intrinsically connected in the Medical Sector and has been instrumental in assisting Medical Practitioners with the establishment of Medical Centres and Hospitals, including the application of applicable Licenses and setting up their operations. Vishal’s intrinsic understanding of the medical sector, funding models and access to finance, places him in a unique position to develop operating models that enable Medical Practitioners to be able to establish medical centres/ hospitals with ease.
